The transformation of an existing space always presents new challenges. In this case, the change of use was an obstacle that evolved into a stunning design opportunity. The necessary height increase in the basement produced a more striking ground floor where numerous levels stand out. The view of the kitchen and the raised private dining area are particularly eye-catching features of the space’s layout. The result is an open-plan layout where the hierarchy and diminishing scale of the different coverings draws the eye towards the heart of the premises; mirrors reflect the surrounding industrial architecture and we integrated some of the bank’s original features, such as the old door to its safe.

Perrachica’s story can be traced to the venue’s original use. We cast ourselves in the role of a bank robber who envisions the space as a warehouse to plan future heists and stash her loot. The style is a mashup of industrial and eclectic and offers up a space which is versatile, comfortable and playful. The main thrust of the room, where the bars are located, is architecturally faithful to the classic style typical of old banks. The vertical pillars are showcased to theatrical effect and the space also features surprise elements, such as the DJ booth.
Perrachica is a comfortable venue where customers can relax in an abundance of environments. Despite its size, spaces with a winning formula emerge, such as the front terrace with its bespoke wallpaper and skewed façade. The environment exudes the eclectic but never loses its welcoming vibe.
