In such an iconic place as Centro Canalejas Madrid, which also houses Spain’s first Four Seasons hotel, our intervention had to integrate history while also providing a gastronomic stimulus to the area. Located on the ground floor, it needed to showcase the newly constructed staircase, be visible from the first floor (also a commercial gallery), and remain permeable so that the exclusive brands occupying the gallery could be seen from any point. These challenges helped shape this fascinating project.

The old kiosks of Madrid city were the main inspiration for this project. Specifically, the music kiosk on Paseo Pintor Rosales, whose inauguration in May 1923 was a great success. With a metal structure that allowed for permeability in its views and a beautiful roof on its upper part, it enables us to pay homage to a city icon that attracted crowds with its Sunday music concerts.
As a result, the new Canalejas Café is an element with a strong traditional significance for an iconic location. A space with high social content, a place for gatherings full of life, where the exterior blends with the interior and integrates into a privileged environment.
