Where History Meets Jazz
CHALLENGES
Building on the expansion of the successful live jazz music venue, the challenge is to create a space where the nighttime live music program coexists with the daytime dining experience for guests and external clients. The project extends to the reception and elevated lounge area on the ground floor, following the design line of this new stage of the hotel.
Combining the intimate atmosphere of the jazz club with a bright and vibrant environment, where guests are welcomed in a relaxed and friendly setting, is the greatest challenge of this project. The space subtly transforms through lighting, scale control, and the materiality of the surroundings.

INSPIRATION
Jazz is the protagonist, the starting point. We are transported to New York in the 1920s, a pivotal time and place that shape the project’s identity. The proposal embraces the Art Deco movement of this era while keeping the genre’s popular origins in the American South in mind. The underground culture coexists with the intellectualism of the early 20th century.
OUTCOME
AC Recoletos Hotel welcomes us through a wrought iron vestibule adorned with greenery, leading to a double-height space bathed in natural light. At the reception area, the scale is reduced to greet guests in a domestic and contemporary setting. Neutral colors are combined with noble materials and cozy textiles. Carefully selected furniture pieces elevate the user experience.
At night, the dim lighting transforms the space. Mirrors reflect, metallic details gleam, and neon accents transport us to a New York club. A warm atmosphere invites interaction and enjoyment of the curated live music that envelops the space. All eyes turn to the stage, elevated above the other elements. The show begins!
